I am an oily skinned girl on the never ending journey to find the perfect foundation! There is not enough reviews out there for us oily skinned girls!
When Chanel Pro-Lumiere was discontinued in 2011 I was in despair. It was a beautiful relationship- It just worked! It provided the perfect coverage being both long wearing and luminous. I think I would still be using it now had it not been discontinued.
The first foundation I tried after the Pro Lumiere was Mac Studio Fix Fluid. I love MAC and had built up quite a collection of lipsticks by this time so it seemed like the obvious choice.
I was matched up to NC30 which at seemed like the perfect colour and for the first few weeks of using this foundation I absolutely loved it. My skin quickly got used to this foundation and after a few weeks I had become an oily yellow mess. This was also the first foundation I had to use concealer with as I found it creased around the eye under eye area.
Mac SFF is still a staple in my makeup bag but I must have been through every shade to find my perfect match, and I’m still not 100% there!
For those of you also struggling with MAC shades I have found that both NC41 and NC37 are more neutral than shades ending with 0 or 5. These act as a half shade containing both yellow and pink undertones.
Studio Fix is a brilliant foundation a if you find the perfect match but I do think it has to be combined with other products to work for oily skinned girls.
